AUXILIARY UNIT 84
We are dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives
with respect and dignity. We accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families
can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of
America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great
sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.

I am thanking all that participated, as well as those that were with us all in spirit. It was a great honor to represent our Chapter and Unit 84. I wish to express special gratitude to DAV Chapter 84 members for their support.

Several Auxiliary members assisted in a DAV sponsored luncheon for residents at the Emory Bennett Nursing Home for Veterans. DAV Chefs Bernie Navarra and Dallas Proax prepared a delicious meal of fried turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, mixed vegetables, rolls and assorted desserts.

Auxiliary members cheerfully served residents and staff. As a surprise treat, they also distributed goodie bags filled with personal care items to the residents. It was obvious that the luncheon was a huge success as evidenced by the expressions of gratitude from the residents and staff. The Auxiliary appreciates the opportunity to support the DAV and its mission. We look forward to the next event.

DAV Auxilliary members traveled to Lake Nona and visited with Veterans in the nursing home for Monte Carlo Day. During our visit, cookies, cakes and brownies that were baked and donated by members of the Auxilliary were handed to the Veterans-and enjoyed by all. They enjoyed playing all the card games, Roulette, and Dominoes with the DAV Members-as well as the extra attention they were recieving.
